Pumpkinfest

A wonderful weekend in Maine, filled with all things autumnal: hay rides, thousand pound pumpkins, crab hunting on the beach, and apple picking.

I love the tradition of going up there in the fall (minus the ten hour drive home yesterday, grrrr....) Here's a look back at this weekend last year and the year before!

For Now

Maine, 2016

The weather has turned a bit moody and we had a windy boat ride across John's Bay with Bo snuggled up under my sweater and Oscar curled up next to me today. Feeling very fortunate to have had such a beautiful summer in blissful Maine (if bracing for the looong drive back tomorrow.)

Tail End

Maine, 2016

We are mostly packed now to head south, with a few days left to enjoy the smell of pine trees and the breeze off of the water. I mainly feel ready to leave but it's always bittersweet to say goodbye for a spell.

Lately

A few scenes from life lately. I realize no one will have the slightest bit of sympathy for me but August is unfolding here at a breakneck pace of clam bakes, boat rides, and toddler madness.
