2015

2015

It's been quite the year; I can't even imagine what's in store for 2016. A Happy New Year's from all of us!

Baby Brain

New York, 2015

We took a break from eating and movie watching to head to the train show at the Botanical Gardens in Brooklyn this morning, where we parked and presented our tickets at the booth. The only problem was that the train show was actually taking place at the Botanical Gardens in the Bronx.

So...minor change of destination. Thank goodness I am not operating any heavy machinery at the moment.

Anyway, all five of us (plus three grandparents) made it there eventually and it was a big hit. I can't quite believe we managed a semi-ambitious family outing with all three boys (who were very very good.)

Bo: Three Weeks Old

Bo, 2015

It's been an eventful week for tiny Bo. Lots of angry grunting and naps in his bouncer by the tree. Oscar is especially enamored with him; we all are.

Here's a look back at his big brothers O. and A. at the same stage. I so love having this blog as a reference point, since it sounds like both of our older boys were pretty intense at three weeks old, a fact I'd pretty much blocked from my brain.

Bo is falling in step with plenty of digestive angst and nighttime hijinks, but I guess that's pretty universal at this age. Mostly he's a content little man.

Christmas 2015

Williamsburg, 2015

Merry Christmas from the five of us!

And here's something a friend shared recently. Not quite on point with the 70 degree weather in New York, but just the same...

And so the Shortest Day came and the year died
And everywhere down the centuries of the snow-white world
Came people singing, dancing,
To drive the dark away.
They lighted candles in the winter trees;
They hung their homes with evergreen;
They burned beseeching fires all night long
To keep the year alive.
And when the new year’s sunshine blazed awake
They shouted, revelling.
Through all the frosty ages you can hear them
Echoing behind us – listen!
All the long echoes, sing the same delight,
This Shortest Day,
As promise wakens in the sleeping land:
They carol, feast, give thanks,
And dearly love their friends,
And hope for peace.
And now so do we, here, now,
This year and every year.
Welcome Yule!
