T-Day

Williamsburg, 2015

Since I am about nine thousand months pregnant, we skipped our annual trip to Maine for the holiday and celebrated in low key fashion here in New York.

Fortunately there was still turkey and stuffing. It's been a gorgeous, warm few days in the city and there is so much to be thankful for.

Here's a look back at Thanksgivings from the past few years.

Thanksgiving: Part Two

Maine, 2014

I think Oscar, in particular, really enjoyed his first Thanksgiving. We all did. Maine is idyllic in the summer but there's something really magical about snow on pine trees and sitting by the fire.

As we were packing the car and leaving Maine, Axel said "Let's go Ozzy!" so I think he is warming to his little brother...

Here's a look back at Axel's first Thanksgiving and at last year's festivities (complete with more baby and turkey pics.)

Thanksgiving: Part One

Maine, 2014

We've been in Maine for a week with lots of snow, moose pajamas, and no WiFi! More pictures to come once we've settled back in...

Part Two

Maine, 2013

To settle a score, we made two turkeys this year; one roasted, one fried. In the interest of marital harmony, I won't say which one was better, but all in all it was a good day.

It was a little harder to get Axel to pose with the turkey this year than it was last year! See you on the other side.

Thanksgiving Snow

Maine, 2013

We woke up to a bit more than an inch of snow this morning and went out for a walk to the farm stand to get pies for the holiday. Glad we made the drive before the mad rush!

The Feast

Maine, 2012

Thanksgiving Day was lots of fun. Nautical stripes, ornamental gourds, cheese-laden potatoes, a roaring fire and plenty of wine. Oh, and lots of kiddos. Dinner was probably less serene and stylish than in years past, but it's a happy sort of mayhem when the kitchen is in chaos and there are lots of little people traipsing about and making their chirping noises.

After a Tuesday trip to the doctor's for a 101.1 temperature (and a lot of very sad screaming), it's been a tiring few days for our schnuffly little boy, but he seems mostly in good spirits thanks to infants' Tylenol, steamy showers, and a scary looking nose machine. I think he is feeling all powerful after a few sessions sitting in a high chair and holding his bottle on his own. We like him very much.
