New York, 2015 |
We took the kids to the farm at Stone Barns over the weekend and they got to run around and take a peek at some goats, chickens, and sheep.
It was a success, overall, but I am starting to feel quite pregnant and the relentless August heat is definitely wearing thin (plus: toddlers at loose in a field of chickens is not actually a relaxing thing, as wholesome as it sounds in theory.)
Mainly I am enjoying the rhythm of work and the Brooklyn days when we stick close to home and the kids run around on the roof deck, eat pizza from L'Isola, splash about in paddling pools, and build forts out of couch cushions (while I take refuge in the AC and solace in the fact that I only have 15 weeks to go until this baby is here!)
This is happening, folks.
I am also, nerdily, so very excited for the cooler fall and the start of a new year at nursery for Axel, plus a new slate of activities for the kids and festive occasions like Halloween around the corner.
It feels a little like we are in countown mode (as evidenced by my desire to reorganize our apartment), but I am trying to take things day by day and soak in the final months of being a family of four and able to fit into our Prius.
