Christmas, Belated

Christmas 2016

I have been so off the grid lately, not much use at posting here. But we did have a wonderful, low key Christmas in New York before we left for England. Gingerbread houses were assembled, Santa was visited, and a multitude of gifts were opened. I think we are single-handedly supporting the battery industry of America here.

Jolly Old England

England, 2017

Just home from our first big, ambitious trip to the UK with all three boys (well, the Virgin Islands was ambitious too but this time we crossed an ocean and Bo was on the move)!

And all in it was a success, even if they never adapted to the time zone and were swinging from the rafters until 11 p.m., bless them. Sleep antics aside, I think they all got a taste of English country life, visiting Hampton Court Palace, feeding sheep, and taking muddy, frosty walks to the pub. We spent most of our time in Surrey near their aunt, uncle, and cousins, but we did dip into London for a few days so they had a glimpse of their first double decker buses and a tube ride.

The flights were...interesting, but now that we've all had a night to sleep in our own beds I can feel my sense of humor returning.

Lately

Brooklyn, 2016

Oh hello. It's been a whirlwind of parties, plays, and tree-trimming. The elves are up late wrapping presents and life is good in a madcap kind of way.

Bo: One!

Bo, 2016

So much love for this little one year old person.

We had a low key morning with homemade cards, homemade pancakes, and a few small presents for the smallest among us (though the toys were pretty quickly snapped up by his older brothers). Will and I are taking Bo out for a fancy lunch in the city later today, toasting wishes for all good things in life for baby Balthazar.

Here's a look back at Axel and Oscar at one.

Watch This Space

Fall, 2016

Well, I have been officially useless in the blogging department. Clearly. I've barely been taking pictures, life is such a tornado (in a good way, most of the time).

So I am trying to figure out what I'd like to do with this space, as I also try figure out what's next in so many areas of our life. The boys are thriving, getting big, challenging us, making us laugh / tear our hair out. And I am wondering what's next in terms of my work, reframing how I think about what's feasible now that we're somewhat adjusted to these three little guys.

Next week, Bo turns one (and I will definitely manage to eke out some photos), and then the blur of the holidays begins. It feels like a crossroads. No more infants in our house! And there are other exciting things afoot that I'm not quite ready to share, but I most definitely will when we are ready.
