We took Axel on his first trip to a properly sandy beach this morning, at Half Moon Bay, where we watched the surfers, took a walk, and enjoyed the smell of bonfire smoke from the nearby campground. The baby was cautiously mesmerized and then pretty pleased with it all. After that, it was a gorgeous trip down Skyline Drive and lunch in Palo Alto, where the temperature seems to be aggressively perfect.
