A List

Williamsburg, 2014

It will come as a surprise to no one who knows me that I love making lists.

I usually keep an ongoing one in my notebook of things I'd like to do around the city with (and without) the little guys, and whenever I feel like I'm not taking advantage of New York, I refer to it and get excited about living here all over again.

Here's a peek...

1) Check out the Affordable Art Fair.

2) Head up to the farm at Stone Barns.

3) Go back to Dia Beacon.

4) Visit the New York Hall of Science.

5) Check out the Children's Museum of the Arts.

6) Go to the Central Park Zoo.

7) Have a drink at The Well.

8) Go for Vietnamese at Falansai.

9) Explore Bushwick's Open Studios.

10) See the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum.

11) Visit Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.

12) Stop by Succulent Studios and The Boiler galleries.

13) Go to Governor's Island to see the slides!

14) Head back to PS1.

15) See the trees bloom at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.

16) Take Axel to an aquarium.

P.S. Here's a great series of photos of Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart being tourists in New York. And for the flip side, here's a funny essay called 'New York doesn't love you.' Made me laugh.

  1. Thank you for including us on your list! If you come by, please ask for Henry. He can make good recommendations on what dishes to choose on your first visit, especially for the kids. Our daughter's favorite are the summer rolls (without the greens). Katja from Falansai
