After the sensory overload of our travels, I always relish coming back to Brooklyn and keeping things really simple. It's a bit odd how much I love getting the laundry done, opening the mail, paying the bills, and catching up with the news. My coffee shop guy was starting to wonder where we'd been.
As much as our adventure was refreshing, there's a great comfort in sleeping under our own sheets. Seeing the cats. Taking baths. Catching up with friends. Turns out I like it here!
After the beachy, somewhat indulgent food in the Virgin Islands, today I am craving all the very basic things you don't tend to get in a hotel (or on a boat): cereal for dinner, bananas whenever, yogurt and almonds, and fresh, cold water you don't have to purchase.
Thankfully, I also came home to gorgeous, crisp spring weather and flowers in bloom all over the neighborhood.
It's good to be home.
